Epic Games, creator of one of the best game engines available today; Unreal Engine 3 has released what they call the Unreal Development Kit (UDK) for everyone to utilize.

What is the Unreal Development Kit, you say?
Well it can't be put any simpler; it IS Unreal Engine 3.
UDK is available for everyone, even you, to download and start using right this instant.

This is great news for the mod community and aspiring developers who are looking to create the game of their dreams and showcase their work for future employers, investors and/or publishers. For non-commercial use, the UDK is completely free.

You might create a smash-hit non-commercial game, or maybe get recognized for past UDK creations and land a great job at a major studio. There are few downsides to this, people.
